Legal marijuana sales in New Jersey reached $101.22 million in July, bringing the state’s total for the first seven months of 2026 to approximately $660 million, according to data from cannabis analytics firm Headset.
July sales increased 5.5% from June and were 0.9% higher than in July 2025. New Jersey’s year-to-date total is now roughly $660 million through the end of July.
The July increase came as consumers purchased considerably more products than they did during the same month last year. Unit sales rose 7.2% year-over-year, substantially outpacing the 0.9% increase in revenue. The difference indicates that growth was driven primarily by higher purchasing volume rather than rising prices.
New Jersey’s average item price was $29.83 in July, among the highest of the legal cannabis markets tracked by Headset. By comparison, the average item sold for $17.85 in California, $15.07 in Colorado and $8.65 in Michigan. Ohio was slightly higher than New Jersey at $29.96, while New York’s average was $28.81.
Flower remained New Jersey’s largest marijuana category, generating $42.27 million in July sales, an increase of 0.7% from July 2025. Flower represented approximately 42% of the state’s total legal cannabis market during the month.
Vapor pens ranked second with $26.83 million in sales, up 1.9% year-over-year, followed by edibles at $10.88 million. Edible sales declined 11.8% compared with July 2025.
Although concentrates represented a considerably smaller portion of the market, they were among the fastest-growing product categories. Concentrate sales reached $3.23 million, up 28.7% year-over-year and 17.9% from June. Concentrate unit sales increased 21.2% month-over-month.
Rosin was an especially strong segment, generating $1.13 million in July sales, a 128.9% increase from the previous year. Headset identified 710 Labs, LEIFFA and RYTHM as leading rosin brands in the state.
Cannabis beverages also experienced substantial percentage growth, with July sales rising 75.9% year-over-year to approximately $510,000. However, capsules declined 42.5% to $230,000, while topical products fell 13% to about $200,000.
New Jersey’s $101.2 million monthly total placed it roughly even with Colorado, which generated $101.5 million in July.
Headset’s figures are based on transaction data reported through licensed cannabis retailers’ point-of-sale systems.
