Aurora Cannabis Expands Global Reach With EU-GMP Certification for Ontario Distribution Center

Aurora Cannabis announced today that its dedicated distribution centre located in Brampton, Ontario, has received European Union Good Manufacturing Practice (“EU-GMP”) certification, increasing the company’s international export capabilities.

The newly certified distribution center joins Aurora’s group of EU-GMP-certified production facilities in Canada and Europe. The certification signals compliance with rigorous EU pharmaceutical standards and enables the facility to serve as a centralized hub for receiving, storing, and distributing marijuana products destined for international markets.

“By adding certification for our distribution centre, we are now uniquely positioned to ensure patients worldwide have consistent access to superior quality medical cannabis from the largest Canadian exporter,” said Jill Lau, Vice President of Canadian Operations at Aurora.

EU-GMP status is a requirement for exporting medical marijuana to many European nations. It is awarded only to companies that meet strict quality control and consistency benchmarks set out in the EudraLex guidelines governing medicinal products in the European Union.

Aurora, which is based in Edmonton, Alberta, operates across Canada and Europe and markets both medical and adult-use marijuana products globally. The company’s portfolio includes consumer brands like Drift, Greybeard and Tasty’s, along with medical brands such as MedReleaf, CanniMed, and Whistler Medical Marijuana Co. Aurora also maintains a majority interest in Bevo Farms, a major supplier of propagated agricultural plants.

The company trades on both the NASDAQ and the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol ACB.
