Legal Marijuana States in U.S. Generated a Combined $2.3 Billion in Sales in October, $22 Billion Year-to-Date

Legal marijuana sales in the United States reached $2.3 billion in October.

Sales were similar to the $2.34 billion sold in September, and slightly above the $2.27 billion sold in August, according to an analysis by The Marijuana Herald. The analysis used data provided by state regulators and cannabis commissions, as well as the research firm Headset. The analysis covered all 22 states with currently operating recreational cannabis markets, as well as data from four of the largest medical-only states.

October’s total continues a steady upward trajectory for state-level legal marijuana programs, bringing the year-to-date total to above $22 billion.
