University of New England Launches Online Marijuana Career Certificate Programs, Registration Now Open for March 10 Start

The University of New England has announced the launch of new, fully online certificate programs designed to prepare students for careers in the rapidly expanding marijuana industry, with the next session set to begin March 10.

Offered through the University of New England Online College of Professional Studies, the programs are 100% online and geared toward individuals seeking formal training and credentials in a field that now supports more than 425,000 full-time jobs nationwide. Industry analysts project legal marijuana revenue in the U.S. will reach $50 billion by 2027.

University officials say the new programs are designed to help meet growing demand from employers as the industry becomes increasingly professionalized and regulated.

The 16-week certificate options include Cannabis Cultivation Specialist, Cannabis Product Development Specialist, Cannabis Retail and Sales Specialist, Cannabis Compliance Specialist, and Medical Cannabis Specialist. Each program is structured to provide focused, career-oriented instruction tailored to specific sectors of the marijuana market.

In addition, UNE Online is offering an eight-week Cannabis Associate Certificate that provides a broad overview of the major segments of the industry. The program is intended to give participants foundational knowledge while helping them identify which area of the field best aligns with their career goals.

The certificates are offered in partnership with Green Flower, a cannabis education company that works with universities and industry employers to develop workforce training programs.

The University of New England, which has been recognized by The Princeton Review for its online Doctor of Education offerings, says registration is now open for all programs beginning March 10.
