Massachusetts has generated more than $368 in legal adult-use marijuana sales so far in 2026, according to newly released data from the Cannabis Control Commission covering activity through March 25, underscoring the continued strength of one of the nation’s most mature cannabis markets.
That total is in addition to roughly $22 million in medical marijuana sales during the same timeframe, bringing combined marijuana sales in the state to nearly $400 just three months into the year.
Monthly figures show a steady start to 2026. In January, the state recorded approximately $147 million in total marijuana sales, including $135 million from the adult-use market. February followed with $134 million in overall sales, $124 million of which came from adult-use purchases. So far in March, sales have reached about $118 million, including $109 million from recreational consumers.
Despite the strong revenue totals, prices continue to trend downward. The average price per gram of marijuana in Massachusetts is now $4.05, down around 5% from a year ago and down 30% from 2024, reflecting ongoing competition among retailers and sustained supply levels across the state. The continued drop in prices has been a defining trend in Massachusetts’ market over the past two years, helping drive consumer demand even as per-unit revenue declines.
The data reinforces Massachusetts’ position as one of the top-performing marijuana markets in the country, with consistent monthly sales and a well-established retail infrastructure supporting both adult-use and medical consumers.
