Florida Medical Cannabis Sales Reach 7.3 Billion mg of THC and 2.5 Million Ounces of Smokeable Marijuana in 2026

Florida’s medical marijuana market has now surpassed 7.3 billion milligrams of THC sold in 2026, with newly released state data showing continued growth in both sales and dispensary count.

According to the Office of Medical Marijuana Use’s weekly reports covering April 17 through April 30, dispensaries sold a combined 984,121,935 milligrams of THC and 318,576.860 ounces of smokable marijuana over the two-week period.

When added to the prior year-to-date totals, this brings Florida’s 2026 total to 7,390,744,513 milligrams of THC and 2,489,775.869 ounces of smokable marijuana. The state has now moved well beyond the 7 billion milligram mark, while smokable flower sales are nearing 2.5 million ounces for the year.

The latest report, covering April 24 through April 30, shows Florida now has 758 active dispensaries statewide, up from 757 the week prior and 752 earlier in April. The newest approved location was Trulieve in Belleview.

Trulieve remained the state’s dominant operator, reporting 95,217,319 milligrams of THC sold during the most recent week across 169 locations, along with 47,608.219 ounces of smokable marijuana. MÜV followed with 49,568,843 milligrams of THC and 15,345.158 ounces, while Curaleaf reported 46,475,860 milligrams of THC and 14,634.763 ounces.

The number of active qualified patients stood at 924,820 as of May 1, down slightly from 925,211 the week prior and 926,214 in the April 16 report. Despite the modest decline, Florida continues to have the largest medical marijuana patient populations in the country.

Florida voters approved medical marijuana in 2016 through Amendment 2. The program operates under a vertically integrated system, allowing licensed businesses to cultivate, process and sell marijuana products. Patients can purchase smokable marijuana, typically capped at 2.5 ounces per 35 days unless a physician approves more, and the state does not impose a statewide excise tax on medical marijuana.
