Legal marijuana stores in Nevada sold over $75 million in legal marijuana and marijuana products in March.

There was $75,023,166 in marijuana sold in May, according to data released by the Nevada Department of Taxation. This is an over 10% increase from the $67 million sold in February.  The state garnered $12,288,541 in taxes from the $75 million in marijuana sold. This is a roughly $1.7 million increase from February, and a $300k increase from January.

Of the $75 million sold in January, a large majority came from Clark County with $57 million, with the second highest being Washoe County at $10.4 million.

Of the $12.3 million in marijuana taxes, $5.6 million came from Clark County, $1.1 milliom from Washoe County, and $623k from all other counties.

For the fiscal year-to-date, Nevada has made $99.9 million from the legal distribution of $634,788,902 worth of marijuana.

In Nevada those 21 and older are allowed to possess up to one ounce of marijuana and up to 3.5 grams of marijuana concentrates, which they can purchase from a licensed marijuana retail outlet. Cities have the option to opt out of allowing marijuana outlets, meaning in many cities there aren’t any. Nevada has a wholesale marijuana excise tax of 15% on both medical and recreational sales, and an additional 10% retail excise tax that applies only to recreational marijuana.
