Legislation that would increase the legal possession limit for marijuana-infused liquids has been advanced to a third and final reading by the Washington State Senate.
Filed by Senator King, Senate Bill 5340 has been “Placed on third reading by Rules Committee”. If passed through the third reading by the full Senate, it would need to pass the House of Representatives before it can be sent to Governor Jay Inslee.
Under current law those 21 and older can possess up to 72 ounces of marijuana-infused products in liquid form.
SB 5340 states that retailers “may sell more than 72 ounces of cannabis-infused product in liquid form if the product is packaged in individual units containing no more than four milligrams of THC per unit.”
A new limit of “200 milligrams of THC within a cannabis-infused product in liquid form is established if the product is packaged in individual units containing no more than four milligrams of THC per unit.”
The measure states that “a person 21 years of age or older may legally possess the amounts above and may transfer half of such amounts to another person or persons 21 years of age or older if the transfer complies with other applicable requirements.”
