The average cost of recreational marijuana in Ohio has dropped substantially since the start of legal sales on August 7.
According to data released today by the Ohio Department of Commerce’s Division of Cannabis Control (DCC), the average cost of recreational marijuana as of November 30 is $6.99 per gram. This is down 26% from the $9.40 average on August 7.
Between August 7 and November 30, there was $191,339,920 worth of recreational marijuana sold across 2,537,211 transactions. During the same period, there was $111.6 million in medical marijuana sold, combining for over $300 million.
Ohio’s all-time marijuana sales, which include both medical and recreational markets, is now $2,220,982,307 across 20,046,688 transactions.
Under Ohio law, adults 21 and older may possess up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana or 15 grams of concentrates. Medical marijuana patients can carry a 90-day supply, which includes up to eight ounces of dried marijuana and 26.55 grams of concentrates. The Ohio Division of Cannabis Control continues to oversee both markets, ensuring compliance and fostering growth in this rapidly expanding industry.
