Rhode Island marijuana retailers recorded just under $9.92 million in sales for September, according to newly released data from the Cannabis Control Commission.

The total includes $8.45 million from adult-use purchases and $1.47 million from medical marijuana sales.

So far in 2025, sales have reached $89.4 million, with an average transaction amount of $34.89. Pre-packaged bud remains the top-selling product category at $38.29 million year-to-date, followed by raw pre-rolls ($17.99 million), vape cartridges ($14.77 million), and edibles ($10.53 million).

While September’s total was slightly below the August peak of $10.71 million, sales remain consistent with earlier months. Year-to-date figures also highlight steady consumer demand, with Rhode Island’s adult-use market continuing to drive most of the growth.

Comparing to the same period in 2024, sales are slightly ahead this year. From January through September 2024, retailers brought in $88.4 million, with September sales reaching $9.52 million. In 2025, that figure climbed to $9.92 million, marking year-over-year growth despite a decline in medical marijuana sales.

The data shows Rhode Island’s cannabis industry is on pace to surpass last year’s total sales by the end of 2025, as the adult-use market cements itself as the primary driver of revenue.
