Maryland’s legal cannabis market brought in $92,369,430 in sales in February 2026, with about $75 million coming from the adult-use market and the remaining roughly $17.4 million from medical sales. That total was up from $88.03 million sold in February 2025 and about $89 million sold in February 2024. Through the first two months of 2026, Maryland’s year-to-date marijuana sales now stand at $191.7 million.

Flower remained the top-selling category in February, accounting for about $51 million in sales. Concentrates followed at $29.7 million, with edibles bringing in another $11.4 million. The figures indicate that Maryland consumers continue to favor traditional dried flower by a wide margin, while concentrates and edibles also make up a sizable share of the overall market.

The increase came even as marijuana prices continued to fall. The average price for dried flower in Maryland is now $7.84 per gram, down from $9.00 per gram in February 2025, a drop of nearly 13%. Even with that decline, total sales still rose, a sign that consumer demand remained strong enough to offset lower prices.

Maryland’s medical marijuana program was authorized in 2013, with the first dispensaries opening in 2017. Adult-use legalization came when voters approved Question 4 in November 2022, allowing possession and use by adults 21 and older beginning July 1, 2023. Retail adult-use sales also launched on July 1, 2023.

Under current Maryland rules, adult-use marijuana sales are subject to a 12% sales tax, while medical marijuana sales to qualified patients and caregivers are exempt. Adults 21 and older may legally possess up to 1.5 ounces of flower, 12 grams of concentrates, or 750 milligrams of THC in edibles.
