Washington D.C.’s medical marijuana market brought in $9,300,768 in sales in March, a new monthly record, according to a report released today from the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration. That’s an increase from the $8,521,316 sold in February, and a jump of roughly 57.3% from the $5,913,109 recorded in March 2025.

The new report also shows continued growth in the district’s overall patient base. Total unique patients reached 109,686 in March, up from 104,433 in February and 99,710 in January. The number of unique patients served by a registered dispensary also rose sharply to 37,759, compared to 32,740 the month prior. The district had 68 total retailers in March, unchanged from February.

Dispensaries generated the largest share of March sales at $6,255,850, up from $5,463,268 in February. Manufacturers brought in $2,470,297, while cultivation centers accounted for $574,621. Among product categories sold by retailers, flower remained the top seller at $3,251,058, followed by vape cartridges at $1,130,801 and infused edibles at $768,732. Raw pre-rolls also brought in a notable $636,519 during the month.

For D.C. residents specifically, total unique patients climbed to 22,857 in March, up from 20,643 in February. Sales to D.C. residents reached $3,842,555, compared to $3,423,281 the month before. Meanwhile, non-D.C. resident self-certified temporary patients accounted for $1,938,011 in sales in March, up from $1,645,883 in February, with 12,620 unique purchasers making 19,560 total sales.

The March numbers make clear that D.C.’s medical marijuana market continued to expand, with higher monthly sales, more active patients and stronger dispensary revenue helping push the program to one of its strongest months yet.
