Missouri marijuana retailers sold $129.64 million worth of legal marijuana in June, bringing the state’s total for the first half of 2026 to $771.08 million.
The June total includes both medical and adult-use marijuana sales, according to data from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services’ Division of Cannabis Regulation. The agency notes that monthly sales figures may change slightly due to system reconciliations, including reporting corrections, returns and refunds.
Sales have remained relatively consistent throughout the year. Missouri marijuana retailers sold $126 million in January, $119.84 million in February, $131 million in March, $129.6 million in April and $135 million in May, before reaching $129.64 million in June.
The $771.08 million sold through the first six months of 2026 is around $20 million higher than the total for the same period in 2025, continuing steady growth for a market that has quickly become one of the larger legal marijuana markets in the Midwest.
Missouri voters legalized medical marijuana in 2018 and approved recreational marijuana legalization through Amendment 3 in November 2022. Adult-use sales officially began on February 3, 2023. Adults 21 and older are allowed to possess up to 3 ounces of marijuana and may purchase up to 3 ounces in a single transaction. Medical marijuana purchases are taxed at 4%, while adult-use marijuana sales are taxed at 6%, in addition to any applicable local taxes of up to 3%.
May remains the strongest month of 2026 so far, with $135 million in sales, followed by March at $131 million, June at $129.64 million and April at $129.6 million. February was the lowest month of the year at $119.84 million, though sales still remained just under $120 million.
With six months now reported, Missouri’s legal marijuana market remains on pace to surpass $1.5 billion in sales for the year.
