Nevada: In July, $71 Million in Legal Marijuana Sold, Half a Billion Year-to-Date

Nevada marijuana stores sold over $70 million in marijuana and marijuana products in July.

There was $71,615,363 in legal marijuana sold throughout Nevada in July, according to data released by the Nevada Department of Taxation. This is a $3 million increase over the total for June, and is similar to the total for July, 2022 ($71.9 million).

Of the $71.6 million sold in July, $55 million was sold in Clark County, $9.9 million was sold in Washoe County and $6.9 million was sold in “all other counties”.

Marijuana sales in July resulted in $10,674,600 in tax revenue for the state, with about half coming from Clark County.

Year-to-date marijuana sales in Nevada are now around half a billion dollars, resulting in nearing $80 million in tax revenue. The top month for marijuana sales so far this year was March, with $75,023,166 in marijuana sold (resulting in $12,288,541 in taxes).

In Nevada those 21 and older are allowed to possess up to one ounce of marijuana and up to 3.5 grams of marijuana concentrates Licensed marijuana retail outlets are authorized to sell marijuana, with cities given the option to opt out of allowing such stores. Nevada has a wholesale marijuana excise tax of 15% on both medical and recreational sales, and an additional 10% retail excise tax that applies only to recreational marijuana.
