This week, Tyson released a video supporting Amendment 3, a ballot initiative that would allow those 21+ in Florida to legally purchase, possess, and consume marijuana. Sitting in a boxing gym, Tyson addressed Florida voters directly, urging them to back the amendment.

“Florida voters, this is Mike Tyson, urging you to support Amendment 3,” Tyson said in the video. “Like most of you, I support the freedom to buy, possess, and consume marijuana without the threat of being incarcerated. So, yes! Vote Amendment 3. Now.”

Tyson’s endorsement comes as polling shows support for the initiative is around 63%, above the 60% threshold but not significantly so.

Amendment 3 would allow for the possession of up to three ounces of dried marijuana flower and up to five grams of marijuana concentrates. These products would be available for purchase at licensed marijuana retail outlets and medical marijuana dispensaries that hold dual licenses.

Tyson’s endorsement adds star power to the campaign for Amendment 3. With his cannabis brand already making waves, Tyson’s involvement underscores his long-standing passion for cannabis its potential benefits.

As of the end of July, the campaign in support of Amendment 3 had raised $66 million, more than any previous marijuana initiative effort in any state.
