Congressmember Dina Titus Receives Lifetime Achievement Award From National Cannabis Industry Association

Congressmember Dina Titus (D-NV) has been honored with the Legislative Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) for her longstanding efforts to advance marijuana reform at the federal level.

The award was presented during NCIA’s annual policy gathering in Washington, D.C., where Titus thanked the organization for its recognition and reaffirmed her commitment to “commonsense cannabis reform.”

In a post on X, she said, “Puff, puff, pass the bill! Thank you for honoring me with the Legislative Lifetime Achievement Award, @NCIAorg. I will continue advocating for commonsense cannabis reform, including my own STATES 2.0 Act.”

Representative Titus serves as co-chair of the Congressional Cannabis Caucus, a bipartisan coalition that pushes for federal marijuana policy change. Titus introduced the STATES 2.0 Act earlier this year alongside Congressman Dave Joyce (R-OH). The bill would formally enshrine state-level marijuana legalization protections into federal law, preventing the federal government from interfering with cannabis programs established by individual states and tribes.

Throughout her career, Titus has been one of Congress’s most vocal supporters of marijuana reform, backing efforts ranging from decriminalization to expanding banking access for marijuana businesses. She has consistently emphasized the need to replace outdated federal policies with ones that reflect the realities of modern cannabis use and regulation across the country.

The NCIA’s award recognizes elected officials who have made a meaningful impact on shaping marijuana policy in the United States. With over half of the U.S. population living in a state where marijuana is legal in some form, the role of congressional advocates like Titus remains vital in the push for national reform.
