Maine’s adult-use marijuana market generated $23,227,479 in July, the largest monthly total since August 2024, according to new figures released by the Office of Cannabis Policy.

The revenue came from 452,395 individual transactions. Through the end of July, licensed marijuana retailers have sold $140,860,230 worth of product, a modest increase over the $137 million collected during the same period in 2024.
Despite this growth, prices continue to drop. The average price per gram of marijuana flower fell to $6.61 in July, down from $6.65 in June and $6.67 in May. The year-to-date average sits at $6.78 per gram, reflecting the ongoing trend of price declines that has shaped Maine’s market over the past two years.
In July, “usable cannabis” was the top selling category at nearly $13 million, followed by concentrates at $6.6 million and infused products at $3.6 million.
Maine voters approved recreational marijuana legalization in 2016, with licensed sales beginning in October 2020. The state imposes a 10% sales tax on adult-use sales, along with a separate excise tax based on product type. Tax revenue is directed toward public health initiatives, municipal reimbursements, and the state’s general fund.
