New Mexico’s marijuana industry recorded $44.3 million in sales during September, lifting the year-to-date total to just over $428 million.
That figure puts the state ahead of last year’s pace, topping the $394.2 million sold during the first nine months of 2024 by nearly 10%. This is according to new data released today by the New Mexico Regulation & Licensing Department.
Adult-use purchases once again made up the majority of sales in September, reaching $34.2 million for the month. Medical marijuana contributed an additional $10 million, showing that while recreational sales dominate the market, the medical program remains a consistent part of the industry.
Consumers completed more than 1.1 million transactions in September, including 672,048 adult-use purchases and 213,256 medical ones.
Since legalization, marijuana sales in New Mexico have now surpassed $1.93 billion, with recreational purchases accounting for more than $1.38 billion and medical sales adding over $552 million. Altogether, residents and visitors have made more than 43 million transactions across the state.
The steady growth highlights the strength of New Mexico’s marijuana sector, which continues to outperform its 2024 benchmarks and remains on track to set new annual records by the end of 2025.
