Legal marijuana sales across the United States totaled roughly $2.2 billion in November, bringing the year-to-date total to nearly $25 billion.
The figure marks a slight dip from the $2.34 billion sold in October, but is a 10% increase from the previous November and is on par with the $2.27 billion in sales recorded in September. The totals are based on monthly sales data released by state marijuana regulators and commissions, supplemented by market research from Headset, and reflect activity across 22 states with operating adult-use marijuana markets, along with four of the largest medical-only states. Minnesota is not included because sales data is not yet available, and Virginia is not included as it remains the only legal cannabis state to not allow licensed sales.
With November’s numbers now added, total legal marijuana sales for the year have climbed to nearly $25 billion, reinforcing the broader trend of sustained demand across state programs despite ongoing price compression in many markets.
