U.S. Marijuana Sales Reach $1.872 Billion in October

In October, legal marijuana states collectively generated $1.872 billion in sales.

This total, based on an analysis by The Marijuana Herald, represents a marginal decrease from September’s $1.877 billion, highlighting the market’s stability. Sales data for most states was sourced from their regulatory bodies overseeing the marijuana industry. In instances where this data was unavailable, figures from the research firm Headset were used.

Looking ahead, monthly revenues are expected to rise in 2025 as Delaware and Minnesota prepare to launch their legal marijuana markets.

Below is a state-by-state breakdown of October’s marijuana sales.

  • Arizona: $84 million (-$1 million from previous month)
  • California: $345 million (+$11 million from previous month)
  • Colorado: $102 million (-$2 million from previous month)
  • Connecticut: $24 million (+$1 million from previous month)
  • Illinois: $158 million (-$10 million from previous month)
  • Maryland:  $96 million (-$1 million from previous month)
  • Massachusetts: $145 million (same as previous month)
  • Maine: $21 million (-$3 million from previous month)
  • Michigan: $269 million (+$4 million from previous month)
  • Missouri: $121 million (+$4 million from previous month)
  • Montana: $27 million (same as previous month)
  • Nevada: $58 million (same as previous month)
