UCLA’s Center for Cannabis and Cannabinoids is seeking volunteers for four clinical studies that will test how compounds in marijuana affect mood, pain, appetite, and overall health. Participants can earn between $399 and $1,725.
The CanSex Study will look at how cannabis influences mood and pain. Healthy adults ages 21 to 65 who use marijuana but do not experience chronic pain are eligible. It requires one to three screening visits and three full-day smoking sessions in the lab. Compensation is up to $399.
The Terpene Study will examine how THC and terpenes interact to influence mood and pain. This study involves one to three screening visits and 15 full-day vaporizing sessions, with participants able to earn up to $1,725.
The S-TACOFS Study will test how cannabis chemicals can be detected in blood and saliva and how they affect mood and impairment. Adults ages 21 to 65 who use marijuana infrequently are eligible. The study includes one to three screening visits and four full-day smoking sessions, with compensation up to $500.
The CBG Study will focus on how THC and cannabigerol (CBG) impact mood, pain, and appetite. Volunteers must be between 21 and 65, regular cannabis users, and pain-free. The study requires two screening visits and nine full-day vaporizing sessions, paying up to $1,000.
All four studies require in-person participation at UCLA’s Cannabis and Cannabinoid Laboratory. Those interested can complete a pre-screening survey through the university’s website by clicking here.
