Rhode Island’s regulated marijuana market generated $120,095,191 in total retail sales during 2025, a slight uptick from the $118 million sold in 2024, according to the Cannabis Control Commission. The figure includes both adult-use and medical marijuana purchases and reflects a market that has largely stabilized after its early expansion phase.
Throughout 2025, monthly sales ranged between $8.98 million (March), to a record-breaking $10.72 million (August). By comparison, monthly sales in 2024 ranged between $9.32 million (February) and $10.25 million (July)
Flower products continued to dominate consumer spending in 2025. Pre-packaged bud accounted for the largest share of sales at $50.9 million, by far the state’s top category. Raw pre-rolls followed with $24.16 million, while vape cartridges generated $20.11 million. Edibles remained a major segment as well, totaling $14.13 million for the year. Concentrates sold as individual items brought in $5.14 million, and infused pre-rolls added another $3.48 million. Smaller categories included bud or flower sold outside standard pre-packaging at $1.07 million, tinctures at $0.69 million, topicals at $0.23 million, and infused non-edible products at $0.18 million. Seeds and certain niche concentrate products contributed negligible revenue.
The average transaction amount for the year came in at $34.97. Dividing total sales by that figure suggests Rhode Island dispensaries processed roughly 3.43 million marijuana transactions in 2025, underscoring the consistency of consumer traffic across the year.
Taken together, the data point to a mature but healthy market, with Rhode Island finishing 2025 slightly ahead of the prior year and maintaining a balanced mix of product categories anchored by flower, pre-rolls, and vapes.
