The White House yesterday published a detailed review of President Donald Trump’s first year back in office, and included marijuana rescheduling among what it described as 365 key accomplishments delivered over the past 365 days.
The post, titled “365 WINS IN 365 DAYS: President Trump’s Return Marks New Era of Success, Prosperity” and published on Tuesday, outlines a wide-ranging list of policy actions across immigration, public safety, the economy, foreign affairs, energy and health care. Within the section focused on “Making America Healthy Again”, the administration cites an executive order signed by President Trump that reclassifies marijuana to Schedule III under federal law.
“Signed an executive order reclassifying marijuana to Schedule III, accelerating medical research and patient access”, states the list.
The listing places marijuana rescheduling alongside other health-related initiatives, including drug pricing reforms, changes to federal nutrition programs and shifts in vaccine recommendations.
The list comes a little over a month after President Trump signed the rescheduling executive order. The Department of Justice is expected to publish a final rule in the Federal Register any day now, with sources saying that Trump has directed Attorney General Bondi to have the order published by the end of January.
