Licensed marijuana retailers in Oregon sold $79,452,604 worth of marijuana and marijuana products in May, marking the highest monthly total so far in 2025.
This brings the state’s total for 2025 to around $383 million, with all-time marijuana sales now standing at approximately $7.57 billion since October 2016.
According to data released by the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission, dried flower led sales once again, followed by concentrates and edibles. Notably, the average price of dried flower increased slightly to $3.40 per gram, up from the all-time low of $3.33 in April. The price of concentrates also rose, from $15 to $16 per gram.
Oregon legalized recreational marijuana in 2014, with licensed sales beginning the following year. Adults 21 and older can legally possess up to two ounces in public and up to eight ounces at home.
The state imposes a 17% tax on marijuana sales, with an additional 3% allowed at the local level. Revenue from these taxes is distributed to public education, mental health services, law enforcement, and other public health programs.
Based on Oregon’s cannabis tax rate, the state has garnered $65 million in marijuana taxes so far in 2025, and nearly $1.3 billion all-time.
