Legal marijuana sales in Michigan reached $261 million in June, according to a report released today by the Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA), bringing the state’s year-to-date total to $1,589,646,901.72.
Adult-use marijuana continued to dominate the market, accounting for $260.6 million of the total. Medical marijuana made up just $487,000 in sales for the month. Since recreational sales launched in December 2019, total adult-use revenue has climbed to nearly $11.8 billion.
Among adult-use products, flower remained the top seller with $112.2 million in sales from more than 111,000 pounds sold. Other leading categories included vape cartridges ($47.9 million), inhalable concentrates ($42.5 million), infused edibles ($22.7 million), and concentrates ($13.8 million). The average retail price for an ounce of flower was $62.91.
Delivery services for adult-use cannabis generated $3.6 million in sales in June, with 349 retailers licensed to offer the service. For medical marijuana, home delivery brought in just over $10,000 and is currently offered by 67 provisioning centers.
Michigan’s marijuana industry workforce grew slightly to 39,220 employees, supporting a total of 2,240 active adult-use licenses, including 845 retailers and 843 Class C growers.
The CRA collected over $4 million in licensing revenue in June and reported $1.5 million in related expenses. Regulators also issued 267 enforcement actions and 384 notices of non-compliance.
With six months remaining in the year, Michigan is on track to once again surpass $3 billion in annual marijuana sales.
