New Mexico Legal Marijuana Sales Reach $46 Million in June

In June there was $46 million in legal marijuana and marijuana products sold in New Mexico.

In total New Mexico marijuana stores sold $46,076,614.14 worth of marijuana in June, according to data released by the New Mexico Regulation & Licensing Department. The $46 million sold is a slight decrease from the $47.7 million sold in May, and is almost identical to the $46.07 million sold in April.

In June there was $14,839,835.55 worth of marijuana and marijuana products (including concentrates, edibles, topicals, etc.) were sold to medical marijuana patients. $31,236,778.58 was sold to those 21 and older who are not registered patients.

There was 275,800 different medical marijuana transactions in June, in addition to 706,241 different recreational marijuana transactions. This brings the total number of transactions to 982,041.

According to the Regulation & Licensing Department, there are 1,006 licensed marijuana stores located throughout the state with a population of a little over two million.

All-time marijuana sales now stand at $580,140,291, with $216 million coming from medical marijuana sales and $363 million coming from recreational marijuana sales. There have been a total of 12,396,860 different legal marijauna transactions.

In New Mexico those 21 and older are allowed to purchase and possess up to two ounces of marijuana, up to 16 grams of marijuana extract and up to 800mg of marijuana-infused edibles. Marijuana is taxed roughly 5% at the point of sale. Recreational marijuana sales also have an additional 12% excise tax, with medical marijuana sales being exempt.
