CDC Data Shows Smoking Remains Top Choice for Marijuana Consumers, Followed by Edibles

Smoking continues to dominate as the most popular method of marijuana consumption, with 79% of users choosing it over other options, according to newly released data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The findings are based on survey responses from more than 138,000 individuals. Of those, 15% reported using marijuana in the past month, with 8% saying they use it daily. While smoking was the most common form of use, 41% of respondents said they consume edibles, and less than 15% reported using cannabis concentrates like dabs.

The practice of dabbing was largely concentrated among younger adults, with less than 5% of older adults reporting that they consume cannabis concentrates.

The results align with previous research showing that smoking remains the dominant method of marijuana use. Meanwhile, some lawmakers in recent years have attempted to restrict or recriminalize high-THC concentrate products, though most of those proposals have failed to advance.
