A new survey challenges outdated stereotypes about marijuana users, showing they are far more likely to regularly work out than to drink alcohol or eat fast food.
The poll, conducted by cannabis telehealth platform NuggMD, asked marijuana consumers about the frequency with which they engage in common lifestyle activities, including drinking, exercising, and eating fast food.
According to the results, 27.4% of marijuana users say they exercise daily, and another 34.9% say they work out multiple times per week. In contrast, only 6.1% of respondents said they consume alcohol daily, with 11.3% reporting multiple weekly drinking sessions.
When it comes to fast food, just 1.5% said they eat it every day, and 11.5% said they eat it more than once a week—making marijuana users nearly five times more likely to work out than to regularly eat fast food.
The survey also found that 62% of cannabis consumers drink coffee on a daily basis, with 6% drinking it weekly. 54% said they take nutritional supplements daily, compared to around 10% who do so weekly.
For the study, NuggMD surveyed 600 cannabis consumers. The results have a margin of error of +/-4%.
