Chaired by physician and State Representative Mark Newton (R), the committee will evaluate Georgia’s existing regulations around medical marijuana, cannabis-derived medications, and hemp-based products.

“Through these meetings, we will evaluate Georgia’s current laws and regulations… I’m committed to identifying ways to improve patient safety while offering clear, consistent guidance for physicians statewide,” said Rep, Newton.

The meetings will be open to the public and livestreamed, with details on specific times and venues to be released closer to each scheduled date.

Meeting Schedule:

  • Tuesday, July 29 – Atlanta
  • Thursday, August 21 – Augusta
  • Thursday, September 18 – Macon
