Maine’s adult-use marijuana market generated $20,715,349 in revenue for June, according to new data released by the Office of Cannabis Policy.
That total came from 410,646 individual transactions, bringing the year-to-date sales figure to $243,915,947.
The average price per gram of flower dropped to a record low of $6.65 in June, continuing the state’s trend of gradual price declines. The average price in May was $6.67, which had already been one of the lowest since sales began in 2020.
Sales in June were nearly identical to May’s $20.7 million total, showing steady consumer demand as the summer season ramps up.
Maine’s adult-use marijuana industry has now recorded 4,560,251 transactions in the first six months of 2025. Based on this pace, the state could surpass half a billion dollars in recreational marijuana sales by year’s end.
Maine voters approved marijuana legalization in 2016, with licensed sales officially beginning in October 2020. The state imposes a 10% sales tax on recreational marijuana, along with an excise tax that varies depending on the product type. Revenue supports public health programs, municipal reimbursements, and the state’s general fund.
