Delaware: Here’s Every Location Selling Recreational Cannabis Starting August 1

Delaware’s long-awaited recreational marijuana market will officially launch on August 1, with sales initially limited to the state’s existing medical marijuana dispensaries.

All seven medical marijuana operators have been approved to expand into adult-use sales, giving them a significant head start as the broader market continues to face delays. More than 10 locations across the state are expected to be open for business on day one.

Below is a full list of dispensaries that will begin recreational sales August 1:

  • First State Compassion – 37 Germay Drive, Wilmington

  • First State Compassion – 12000 Old Vine Blvd., Unit 102, Lewes

  • Fresh Cannabis – 635 N. DuPont Blvd., Milford

  • Fresh Cannabis – 800 Ogletown Road, Newark

  • Fresh Cannabis – 22983 Sussex Highway, Seaford

  • Columbia Care Delaware – 200 S. DuPont Blvd., Smyrna

  • Columbia Care Delaware – 5606 Concord Pike, Wilmington

  • Columbia Care Delaware – 36725 Bayside Outlet Drive, Suite 760, Rehoboth Beach

  • Field Supply – 4543 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington

  • The Farm – 105 Irish Hill Road, Felton

  • The Farm – 240 S. DuPont Highway, New Castle

  • Best Buds – 516 Jefferic Blvd., Dover

  • Best Buds – 23 Georgetown Plaza, Georgetown

The decision to limit initial sales to medical operators has drawn criticism from advocates who say it gives those businesses an unfair advantage. The broader market—expected to include up to 125 licensees—has been stalled due to delays in background checks and local zoning restrictions.

Despite the setbacks, Delaware officials say the rollout is progressing. According to marijuana commissioner Joshua Sanderlin, “We will continue to issue conditional licenses to previously selected applicants to ensure they can begin operations once active.”

For now, however, customers looking to legally purchase recreational marijuana on August 1 will be heading to one of the dispensaries listed above.
