Washington D.C.’s National Cannabis Festival Returns This Weekend for 9th Annual Event

The National Cannabis Festival is set to return to Washington, D.C. for its ninth annual celebration on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19, bringing together thousands of marijuana advocates, entrepreneurs, and music fans from across the country.

Held at the Festival Grounds at RFK Stadium, this year’s two-day event continues the tradition of blending live performances with education, policy discussions, and community building. First launched in 2016, the National Cannabis Festival was created by a small group of activists and enthusiasts who wanted to recognize the progress of marijuana reform efforts in the nation’s capital and beyond.

The event has since grown into one of the country’s largest cannabis-themed festivals, with past headliners including Wiz Khalifa, Method Man & Redman, Wu-Tang Clan, 2 Chainz, and Cypress Hill. The 2025 lineup promises another full slate of music, along with yoga sessions, contests, cannabis education panels, and remarks from leading voices in marijuana advocacy.

Just a mile from the U.S. Capitol Building, the festival serves as both a celebration and a call to action, highlighting the work of national nonprofits, veterans groups, and policy leaders fighting to end prohibition and ensure equitable access to the marijuana industry.

This year’s event is led by NCF founder Caroline Phillips and a federal policy team that includes Queen Adesuyi of the Drug Policy Alliance, Morgan Fox of NORML, and Michelle Rutter of the National Cannabis Industry Association, among others.

With Congress still weighing key marijuana legislation and rescheduling on the horizon, organizers say the festival’s advocacy component remains just as vital as its entertainment.
