Maryland Marijuana Sales Reach $100 Million in July, Year-to-Date Total Hits $678 Million

Legal marijuana sales in Maryland reached $100,012,129 in July, according to new data released by the Cannabis Administration. That figure includes $79 million in adult-use sales and $21 million in medical sales.

Flower maintained its lead as the most popular product category, accounting for $57 million in sales. Concentrates followed at $30 million, while edibles brought in $12 million. The remaining revenue came from products such as tinctures, topicals, and capsules.

The July total pushes Maryland’s year-to-date sales to $678.17 million, a 3.5% increase over the $655 million sold during the same period in 2024. Average price per gram climbed slightly to $8.57.

Maryland voters approved marijuana legalization in 2022, with adult-use sales launching in July 2023. Recreational marijuana purchases are taxed at 9% by the state, with municipalities allowed to impose an additional 3%. Medical marijuana remains tax-free.

Revenue from marijuana sales supports multiple public initiatives, including the Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund, school construction, substance misuse prevention programs, and regulatory oversight. The Maryland Cannabis Administration continues to oversee licensing and compliance across the state’s regulated marijuana industry.
