Oregon marijuana retailers sold $80,584,902 worth of products in August, according to new data from the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission.
The total brings Oregon’s all-time legal marijuana sales to $7.806 billion since licensed stores opened in October 2016. For 2025 so far, sales have now reached more than $619 million. At the state’s 17% marijuana tax rate, that equates to just over $105 million in tax revenue year to date.
The average price per gram of marijuana held steady at its all-time low of $3.33 in August. Concentrate products averaged $15.84 per gram, remaining just above the record low of $15 set in April.
Usable marijuana (dried flower) continues to dominate sales, accounting for more than half of all purchases. Concentrates represented about a quarter of the market, while edibles and tinctures made up roughly 11%. The remainder came from smaller categories such as topicals and beverages.
Oregon voters approved recreational marijuana legalization in 2014, with licensed sales beginning the following year. Adults 21 and older may possess up to two ounces in public and up to eight ounces at home.
