California: Coastal Sun Greenhouse Flower Products Recalled After Presence of Aspergillus niger

California regulators have issued a mandatory recall for several Coastal Sun Greenhouse Flower products after testing identified the presence of Aspergillus niger, prompting state officials to direct consumers and retailers to remove affected batches from circulation.

According to the Department of Cannabis Control, the recall covers multiple sizes of the “Papaya Punch” strain, including 1-gram, 3.5-gram and 14-gram packages. The recalled batches were packaged between September and November and later distributed to licensed retailers across several counties. Locations listed in the recall notice range from Alameda and Contra Costa to Butte, Kern and Los Angeles, including both dispensaries and delivery services.

Consumers who purchased the affected product are advised to check the batch and UID numbers printed on the label. State officials say anyone who experiences symptoms or adverse reactions should contact a physician immediately. The agency instructs consumers either to dispose of the product safely or return it to the retailer for proper disposal if the identifying numbers match.

The DCC has notified all licensed businesses with recalled inventory and provided instructions on how to respond. Regulators emphasized that compliance is required and that retailers must ensure all affected products are removed from sale.

The recall was issued December 5 and remains active while the agency continues coordinating with licensees to track and remove the impacted items.
