Curaleaf Opens First Adult-Use Marijuana Dispensary in Maine

Curaleaf has opened its first adult-use marijuana dispensary in Maine, marking the company’s entry into the state’s recreational market with a new retail location in Bangor.

The adult-use store is located at 46 Hogan Road, adjacent to Curaleaf Bangor’s existing medical marijuana dispensary at 829 Hogan Road, which has served registered patients since 2021. According to the company, the new adult-use location operates daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET and is open to consumers 21 and older.

The opening represents Curaleaf’s first adult-use retail outlet in Maine, while the company continues to maintain a focus on the state’s established medical marijuana program. Curaleaf said the adjacent medical dispensary has undergone upgrades and will continue to provide registered patients with access to medical-only products, patient discounts, and individualized guidance.

Curaleaf Bangor’s new adult-use store offers a range of marijuana products, including flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, and infused beverages. The company says the product selection is designed to serve both long-time medical patients and first-time adult-use consumers, emphasizing an educational retail experience and consistent product quality.

Boris Jordan, Curaleaf’s chairman and CEO, said the opening reflects the company’s continued retail expansion while maintaining a focus on Maine’s medical marijuana community.

“Each new milestone in our retail footprint reflects Curaleaf’s mission to expand access to high-quality, tested, legal cannabis,” Jordan said. “We’re proud to welcome adult-use customers in Bangor while continuing to support Maine’s medical cannabis community with best-in-class products, expert guidance, and a customer-first experience.”

In addition to Bangor, Curaleaf continues to operate medical marijuana dispensaries in Ellsworth, Auburn, and Wells. The company says those locations offer dedicated patient resources, a full medical menu, and personalized guidance from staff members trained to assist registered patients.

Curaleaf is one of the largest multi-state marijuana operators in the U.S., with operations spanning cultivation, processing, and retail. The company’s expansion into Maine’s adult-use market comes as more large operators continue to enter or scale up in the state following the launch of recreational sales.
