According to data released today by the Maryland Cannabis Administration, marijuana retailers in the state sold $393 million worth of products during the first four months of 2026, outpacing the same period in 2025 even though prices were down nearly 10%.
Through April, combined adult-use and medical marijuana sales were roughly $15.9 million higher than the $377 million sold during the same period in 2025, an increase of about 4.2%.
April sales totaled $100.7 million, with adult-use purchases accounting for $82 million of that amount. Medical marijuana sales made up the remaining $18.7 million.
The increase comes despite the average price of dried marijuana flower falling nearly 10% from a year ago. The average price was $7.71 per gram in April, down from $8.50 per gram in April 2025.
Flower remained the dominant product category for the month, with $55.5 million in sales. Concentrates followed with $23 million, while edibles accounted for $12 million. All other product categories combined for about $10.2 million.
Adult-use sales continue to make up the large majority of Maryland’s legal marijuana market, accounting for more than 81% of all sales in April.
Maryland launched adult-use marijuana sales on July 1, 2023, following voter approval of legalization in 2022. Adults 21 and older may possess up to 1.5 ounces of marijuana, and adult-use purchases are subject to a 9% state excise tax.
