Safe Harbor Financial, a financial services company serving the marijuana and hemp industries, has announced a 1-for-12 reverse stock split effective today, September 30.
The Denver-based company, formally known as SHF Holdings Inc., said its board approved the ratio following shareholder authorization at a special meeting November 6, 2025.
According to its announcement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the split was scheduled to become effective at 12:01 a.m. Eastern time September 30. Shares were expected to begin trading on a split-adjusted basis that day under the existing Nasdaq ticker, SHFS.
The transaction combines every 12 outstanding common shares into one share. For example, an investor holding 120 shares before the split would hold 10 afterward.
A reverse split reduces the number of shares while proportionally adjusting the per-share price. The transaction itself does not create additional value for shareholders, and market trading can affect the stock’s subsequent price.
Safe Harbor said it will not issue fractional shares. Investors whose holdings would otherwise result in a fraction will receive shares rounded up to the nearest whole share.
The company provides banking-related services, lending, payments and business support through a network of financial institution partners. Safe Harbor is a financial technology company; banking services are provided by its partner institutions.
Safe Harbor said it has assisted with processing more than $35 billion in marijuana-related depository funds across 41 states and territories.
