According to polling released today, a strong majority of likely voters in Florida support Amendment 3, which would make legal marijuana a constitutional right.
According to the new poll, “Support for the measure to legalize marijuana surpasses the 60% threshold: 64% plan to vote “yes” while 27% plan to vote “no”. ”
Amendment 3 would amend Florida’s constitution to allow individuals aged 21 and older to possess and use up to three ounces of dried marijuana flower and up to five grams of marijuana concentrates. These products would be available for purchase at licensed marijuana retail outlets and medical marijuana dispensaries with dual licenses.
The poll included nearly 1,000 likely Florida voters, with a margin of error of +/-3.4%. Emerson College says the data “was weighted by statewide voter parameters, including gender, age, race/ethnicity, education (US Census), and voter registration (state secretary of state) and turnout data (exit polling).”
A poll released earlier this month by the Suffolk University Political Research Center, USA TODAY, and WSVN-TV, came to a similar conclusion, finding that 63% of likely Florida voters support Amendment 3.
Smart & Safe Florida, the political committee behind Amendment 3 to legalize recreational marijuana, has raised $82.6 million as of the end of August. This includes $11 million raised in the middle of August, $10 million from Trulieve and $1 million from Verano Holdings.
