Using the most recent data from state regulatory agencies and the research firm Headset, this article highlights the states where consumers can find the lowest average prices for marijuana. Prices are based on the average cost of a gram of dried marijuana flower.

These are the legal marijuana states offering the cheapest prices per gram of dried flower:

Oregon

$3.57 per gram

In November, the average price per gram of marijuana in Oregon dropped to an all-time low of $3.57, with the cost of an ounce around $80, according to the state’s Liquor and Cannabis Commission. This represents a large 65% decrease from the $10.50 average price when legal marijuana sales began in 2016.

Oregon legalized marijuana in 2014, becoming the third state to do so, following Washington and Colorado.

Michigan

$4 per gram

As of November, Michigan’s cannabis market continues to report low prices, with the average per ounce at $91 according to the Cannabis Regulatory Agency, and the average cost per gram at $4. Michigan voters approved marijuana legalization in 2018, and the first licensed retail outlets opened the following year.

Massachusetts
