Alabama Authorities Raid Multiple CBD and Vape Shops Ahead of New Hemp THC Ban

State authorities in Alabama raided multiple CBD and vape stores this week, alleging violations of long-standing marijuana laws.

Search warrants were executed Monday at businesses in Troy, Enterprise, Clanton, and Wetumpka, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Captain Jeremy Burkett. Officials say the raids led to the seizure of large quantities of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, which are currently being processed and inventoried.

Burkett said the action followed a months-long investigation sparked by numerous complaints about certain CBD retailers and vape shops. While further details remain limited, a press conference is scheduled for Friday to address the operation.

One of the raids took place at Pharaoh Smoke Vape and Phone Repair on U.S. Highway 231 near Walmart, according to the Wetumpka Herald.

The raids come just days before HB445 takes effect on July 1. The new law prohibits the sale of smokable hemp, high-potency THC gummies, and synthetically derived cannabinoids such as Delta-8 and Delta-10. It also bans online sales of these products.
