Of the $125.08 million in total sales, $110.63 million came from the adult-use market, while $14.45 million came from medical marijuana purchases. While slightly below May’s record-setting $132.81 million, June’s total still marks one of the highest monthly figures since legal sales began in the state.

So far in 2025, marijuana sales in Missouri have reached $753.75 million. That includes more than $600 million from recreational sales alone.

Since the launch of legal medical sales in 2020 and the start of adult-use sales in February 2023, Missouri’s marijuana market has generated $4.157 billion in revenue. Nearly 90% of recent monthly sales come from adult-use purchases.

Missouri voters approved a constitutional amendment legalizing recreational marijuana in November 2022. Sales began just three months later, making it one of the fastest rollouts in the country. Recreational purchases are subject to a 6% excise tax in addition to state and local sales taxes, while medical marijuana is exempt from the excise tax.

Tax revenue from marijuana sales has surpassed $300 million, helping fund public health initiatives, veterans’ programs and substance abuse treatment services.
