Maine marijuana retailers sold $19.2 million worth of product in April, bringing the state’s 2026 total to nearly $80 million.
According to data from the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy, licensed retailers reported $19,155,283 in sales in April, spread across 393,639 transactions. Through the first four months of 2026, marijuana stores have sold $79,456,946 worth of product, with 1,609,913 total transactions.
The sales total remains similar to the same period in 2025 despite a sharp drop in prices. The average price per gram of marijuana flower was $5.95 in April, while the year-to-date average is $6.12. That is down nearly 10% from last year and marks a new all-time low for Maine’s legal market.
The continued decline in prices has not led to a major drop in overall revenue, indicating that consumers are purchasing enough product to keep total sales roughly steady despite lower per-gram costs.
All-time marijuana sales in Maine have now reached $1,032,272,437.30, surpassing the $1 billion mark.
Maine voters legalized marijuana in 2016, with the first adult-use stores opening in October 2020. Adults 21 and older may possess up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana, including up to 5 grams of concentrate. The state taxes adult-use marijuana sales at 10%.
