A little over two months after Nevada regulators approved the first marijuana consumption lounge, the state has given approval to three more.
Today the Cannabis Compliance Board voted unanimously to approve three applications for marijuana consumption lounges. The companies receiving the licenses are Deep Roots Harvest, KV Group and Global Harmony.
Consumption lounges are spaces where marijuana can be legally consumed. They are authorized to hold events with live entertainment and they can sell food and drinks, as well as book private events, brand launches, and other unique events.
Deep Roots Harvest, located in Las Vegas, says they plan to operate their consumption lounge on a patio that’s attached to its current dispensary. They say the lounge should be open by March, 2024.
“We anticipate that our patrons will use the space more as a tasting style, microbrewery type-concept due to the fairly small square footage and limited occupancy,” said Deep Roots Harvest COO Jonathan Marshall at a compliance board meeting.
Pahrump-based KV Group plans to run a “farm to table” lounge called Greenlight Preserve The lounge will “combine high quality food and cannabis.”
“The idea would be to move out of our home to convert our home into the actual lounge, to create more of a health and wellness atmosphere with a farm to table restaurant where people feel comfortable to educate themselves on the use of cannabis,” said Steve Cantwell, a co-owner of the group.
Global Harmony, also located in Las Vegas, says its lounge will operate similar to a traditional bar.
In June Planet 13 Holdings Inc., a vertically-integrated multi-state cannabis company, announced that they were the recipients of the first Nevada state consumption lounge license.
