Every Legal Cannabis State’s Top-Selling Strain As of September 2025

Some marijuana strains held steady on this list for September, while others lost ground as shoppers in several states shifted their preferences.

Using data provided by state regulators and the Seattle-based research firm Headset, the following roundup shows which strains were the biggest sellers in states with active adult-use markets.

September marks the first month in which Delaware is included on the list. Minnesota remains excluded as the state prepares to launch its recreational market either later this year or early 2026. Virginia is also excluded as the only state that has legalized the possession of recreational cannabis, but not licensed sales.

Here’s how September’s best-sellers stacked up across the country.
