Florida officials have issued medical marijuana treatment center licenses to 22 companies, bringing an end to a licensing process that began more than three years ago.
The Florida Department of Health entered final orders approving the applications on September 11, with each of the 22 licenses effective that same day. The Office of Medical Marijuana Use has now added the companies to its list of approved medical marijuana treatment centers (MMTCs), with license numbers ranging from MMTC-2026-0029 through MMTC-2026-0050.
The newly licensed businesses are A Good Decision, Alamanda Farms, East Coast Packers, FG Operating Florida, Florida Sports Consultants, Gates Housing Group, Global Investment Group, Green Point Research, Healing Greene FL, KCOF, King Palms, O’Donnell Landscapes, Pioneer Growers of Florida, Pure Beauty Farms, RAAB, Star Buds Florida, Statewide Property Holdings FL, STIIIZY Florida, Sunfest Herbs, The Flower Shop FL, Theory Wellness of Florida and Wachovia Holdings.
The licenses stem from Florida’s April 2023 MMTC application cycle. The state notified 22 applicants in November 2024 that it intended to approve their applications, but the process remained unresolved amid administrative challenges. Florida’s Office of Medical Marijuana Use continued to list the application process separately until the companies received their licenses this month.
The new licenses are effective for two years. Each company must also provide the Department of Health with a $5 million bond or irrevocable letter of credit, with the financial assurance due by September 25.
Receiving a license does not allow the companies to immediately begin growing, processing or selling marijuana. Under state rules, each new MMTC must separately obtain authorization for those activities. Companies must request cultivation authorization within 180 days of licensure, processing authorization within 270 days and dispensing authorization within 365 days.
Florida’s medical marijuana system requires MMTCs to be vertically integrated. The businesses are the entities authorized under state law to cultivate and process marijuana and ultimately dispense products to registered patients once they receive the required operational authorizations.
The September 11 approvals mark one of the largest expansions of Florida’s licensed medical marijuana industry in years, although the new operators will enter the market gradually as they complete the state’s cultivation, processing and dispensing requirements.
