California marijuana regulators have issued a voluntary recall notice for an ASHE vape cartridge after determining the product underwent incomplete and incorrect regulatory compliance testing.

The California Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) published the recall on August 26, identifying the affected product as an ASHE Vape Cartridge manufactured by Crown Genetics, LLC. The agency classifies the product as both “adulterated and misbranded.”

According to the DCC, the recall applies to a single vape cartridge product and was initiated voluntarily. Crown Genetics is listed under California cannabis license C11-0000265-LIC.

The state’s online recall notice currently does not display specific batch or UID information for the affected cartridge, and it also does not list the retail locations where the product was sold. The DCC says it has sent notices and instructions directly to licensees that have the recalled product in their inventory.

Consumers who determine they have an affected product are advised to return it to the retailer for proper disposal or dispose of it through an approved household hazardous waste facility. The DCC says anyone experiencing symptoms or adverse reactions after using the product should contact a physician immediately.

The recall is the latest posted by California regulators as part of the state’s system for removing marijuana products that may be defective, improperly tested or otherwise fail to meet regulatory requirements.
