Oregon’s legal marijuana market generated $74,656,873 in sales in September, bringing the state’s total for the first nine months of 2026 to more than $683.5 million, according to new data from the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC).

Sales for September were nearly identical to the $74,681,393 sold in September 2025, despite prices being down.

Through September, Oregon has generated $683,516,898 in legal marijuana sales during 2026. This is similar to, albeit 1.8% lower than, the $696.4 million generated during the same period in 2025.

OLCC data for September shows the median retail price for usable marijuana at approximately $3.28 per gram, the second-lowest monthly price on record. The only month with a lower price was April 2026, when the median fell to about $3.17 per gram.

Extracts and concentrates dropped to approximately $14.58 per gram in September, setting a new record low in the agency’s historical dataset.

Oregon’s low prices have persisted amid a mature market with substantial marijuana production and intense competition among growers and retailers. The median price for usable marijuana has remained close to $3 per gram throughout much of 2026.

OLCC says its market data comes from Metrc, Oregon’s Cannabis Tracking System, and is based on information entered by licensees. Sales figures include purchases made at OLCC-licensed retailers by both recreational consumers and Oregon Medical Marijuana Program patients.

Oregon voters approved Measure 91 in November 2014, legalizing recreational marijuana for adults 21 and older. Legal possession began in July 2015, followed by the launch of recreational retail sales in October of that year.
