Washington, D.C.’s medical marijuana market generated more than $10.3 million in sales in June, the second-highest monthly total on record, bringing the total for the first half of 2026 to $57.4 million.
The $10,381,484 generated in June represents an increase from $10,021,299 in May and $8,432,503 in June 2025, according to a new report from the District’s Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration. Year-over-year sales increased by approximately 23%.
When combined with approximately $47 million generated during the first five months of the year, June’s total brings sales for the first half of 2026 to about $57.4 million.
Licensed dispensaries accounted for $6,574,122 of June’s total, down slightly from $6,710,655 in May but up from $5,426,126 during the same month last year.
Cultivation center sales reached $853,615, rising from $727,036 in May and $753,271 in June 2025. Manufacturers generated $2,953,747, compared with $2,583,608 in May and $2,253,106 during the same period last year.
District residents made $4,044,193 in purchases during June, while self-certified temporary patients from outside the district accounted for $2,075,466. Patients participating through reciprocity programs generated an additional $454,463.
Flower remained the largest retail product category, generating $3,325,216 in sales from 736 pounds sold. Vape cartridges generated $1,229,214, followed by infused edibles at $788,283 and raw pre-rolls at $769,748.
The number of registered D.C. resident patients increased from 123,826 in May to 131,133 in June. A total of 41,056 unique patients were served by a registered dispensary during the month, and the district reported 69 licensed retailers.
